This decision will support domestic engineering for the agro-industrial complex, which in turn will ensure the development of irrigated agriculture in climate change.
The minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine, Roman Leshchenko, said that the government acts in several areas to support and stimulate the development of agriculture in Ukraine.
“Development of irrigated agriculture and support of farmers working on reclaimed lands is currently the main priority of the Ministry of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine. The first is to assist farmers who use domestic machinery and equipment for irrigation. Also, maximum support for farmers to reconstruct existing or build new irrigation systems and expand irrigated land. In addition, we are working to increase the production of crops further and ensure our country's food security in the face of climate change," said the minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine.
The yield of crops grown with hydraulic reclamation exceeds the yield of crops on lands without irrigation by 2-2.5 times.
