Sweden and Germany Send to Ukraine Satellite Internet Terminals

"Satcube" can be used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and to restore communications in the de-occupied territories

Satcube uses the internet network of the American Intelsat. Jakob Kallmer, CEO of Swedish terminal maker Satcube, said his company has received an order from Intelsat to produce thousands of terminals worth around €5.97 million. The contract will be paid by Germany.

It is known that Starlink transferred about 40.000 terminals to Ukraine. They are faster than Satcube, but Swedish terminals are much harder to track and block. The satellites serving Satcube are in orbit 35.000 km above the Earth. Therefore, the signal transmission delay is less than 1 second, and the transmission rate is 70 megabits per second.

The terminals can be used for various purposes in territories where there is no communication due to the war: by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the fields and trenches, to restore communication in the de-occupied territories of Ukraine, for the needs of field hospitals, and so on.
