The Riksdagen agreed to provide Ukraine with a military package that will cost the state 3.0078 kroner (more than $287 million). This assistance will include defence equipment that will strengthen the military prowess of the Ukrainian army.
According to prime minister Ulf Kristersson, this package is the largest ever given by Sweden: it is 1 billion kroner more than all the previous ones together. It is also worth noting that the decision to help Ukraine was made even though it was made less than 48 hours before the hearing.
"Obviously, Ukraine is defending itself well against the Russian offensive, far beyond expectations, and part of the reason for this is that they have broad support from other countries," Ulf Kristersson,
We remind you that at the beginning of his week, the minister of defence of Sweden, Paul Johnson, said that his country plans to be progressive in assisting Ukraine in the "political, financial, and military spheres".
