On August 15, the website of the Swedish parliament published information about the upcoming military assistance package for the Armed Forces of Ukraine worth almost $314 million. The package will include:
- Ammunition and spare parts for combat vehicles Stridsfordon 90 and Stridsvagn 122, which Sweden had previously donated to Ukraine;
- Vehicles and rescue equipment, as well as components for them;
- Demining equipment;
- Essential items with a limited shelf life.
Notably, the entire contents of this package will be transferred to Ukraine free of charge. Thus, part of the cost of the package covers the components themselves, the rest covers the costs of the Swedish Armed Forces.
In addition, the Swedish government is working on transferring the right to sell Rb 99 (AMRAAM) to the United States of America. The US, in turn, will give them to Ukraine free of charge.
