On March 26, the head of the Sumy regional military administration, Dmytro Zhyvytskyy, recorded a video address to Ukrainians covering the current situation in one of Ukraine's eastern hotspots, Sumy.
"In the Sumy region, the situation remains tense, fierce fighting continues. This is Konotop district, Sumy, Okhtyrka — the active phase of the fighting. As you know, some communities in our country are under the control of the Russian occupiers, there is terror and genocide of Ukrainians in them,” Dmytro Zhyvytskyy said.
He added that hostilities continue in the Trostyanets community, the shelling of the Sumy suburbs, and the bombing of Okhtyrka continue.
We remind you that Okhtyrka will receive the title of the city-hero. Also on the list are Kharkiv, Kherson, Chernihiv and Mykolaiv, Volnovakha and Mariupol (Donetsk region), Okhtyrka in the Sumy region, as well as Gostomel, Bucha and Irpin (and the suburbs of Kyiv that took the lead in the enemy's attack on the capital).
