Volodymyr Zelenskyy and chairman of the Portuguese parliament Augusto Santos Silva met at the presidential residence — the Mariinsky palace. The parties discussed Ukraine's European integration, Ukraine's accession to NATO, and Portugal's participation in the Global Peace Summit.
Zelenskyy thanked the Portuguese delegation for leading his country on the course of supporting Ukraine. In the same context, the parties discussed the support of Ukrainian soldiers, who have protected not only our state but peace in Europe for 434 days.
"Ukraine is interested in involving as wide a range of countries as possible in holding the Global Peace Summit," Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The president thanked Spain for providing shelter to thousands of Ukrainians who fled the war and for the support of our country at the UN. We remind you that Spain is the first country that expressed its readiness to provide Ukraine with Leopards 2.
