The End of the Minsk Agreement

Zelenskyy dissolved the delegation of Ukraine in the trilateral contact group on Donbas

The Tripartite сontact пroup was established to peacefully address the situation in 2014-2015. It is about the armed seizure of part of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions with the assistance of the Russian Federation. The Tripartite Group has become an instrument for the harmonization of measures within the framework of the Minsk Agreements and the implementation of the Normandy format decisions. The group included the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, and OSCE.

In September 2014, the Minsk protocol was signed within the framework of the Trilateral group. On 12 February 2015, a set of measures to implement the Minsk agreements was adopted. On September 1, 2022, Volodymyr Zelenskyy recalled representatives of Ukraine from the contact group. All participants were relieved of their duties. The president repealed the decrees on the establishment and composition of the delegation of Ukraine in the Minsk trilateral contact group. This means there will be no more negotiations, and the Ukrainian side will militarily liberate its territories. The reason for such a decision is obvious — the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine and crimes against the Ukrainian people and prisoners of war.

The order of the head of the Ukrainian state came into force on the same day.
