On November 22, a Panamax-standard vessel with 60 thousand tons of coal landed in Ukraine. The fuel is intended for state heating plants and energy companies of Ukraine, which will further provide Ukrainians with centralized heating and electricity.
It is known that 5 Panamax ships from the USA and 2 from Colombia are expected. The total volume of coal will be about 470 thousand tons (from 40 to 70 tons of coal on each vessel). Agreements on the supply of coal from Poland will bring Ukraine 340 thousand tons of coal.
“All parties must arrive in Ukraine from November 2021-January 2022. The nearest delivery is scheduled for late November, four in December, and one in January. In addition, the company is negotiating additional volumes of imported fuel,” DTEK said.
Representatives of the presidential office said that the imported coal would fully cover the energy needs of Ukrainians.
