Poland has shown respect and patience toward Ukrainian refugees since the first days of the war. Women and children flee the war with only a backpack or a small bag. Therefore, Polish residents provide people from Ukraine not only a roof over their heads but also clothing, and food. In response to such assistance, only a few Ukrainians can give money. But their Poles do not want to accept. Therefore, the Ukrainians decided to thank the neighboring state differently and show that the country in which the war is going can also live in European.
Already now the Ukrainians held a big Saturday cleanup in the Polish city of Gdansk. The cleaning was held as a sign of gratitude to the Polish people for their help. The clean-up campaign was attended by people who had just arrived in Poland, women with children, and elderly people.
About 50 Ukrainians brought order to a foreign country. And, according to activists, this is not the last act of gratitude. But everyone would like to quickly return home — to Ukraine. In our country, there is still a lot of work to do. After all, the Russian military leaves behind dead people, animals, destroyed buildings, and household garbage.
