The minister of infrastructure of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov, explained the goal of the "green" law. The national energy efficiency action plan provides for reducing CO2 emissions.
Earlier in Ukraine, the creation of an environmental tax was initiated. This bill was proposed by the Ministry of development of communities, territories and infrastructure and the State agency for energy efficiency and energy saving. The project has received support and has already been signed by president Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This means that Ukraine will fix a tax for those who pollute the air. That is, large industrial enterprises will have to pay an environmental tariff for carbon dioxide emissions. Such a step will help enterprises switch to more environmentally friendly work and develop energy efficiency programs in the country. In general, Ukraine wants to reduce the final consumption of carbon dioxide by 65% compared to the first year of independence.
Also, the Ukrainian Ministry notes a plan to attract investors, international loans and grants for the development of the decarbonization fund. All the money received will be invested in technologies to reduce emissions and the thermo-modernization of houses and social facilities.
