According to the payment company TripleA, the percentage is 12.73% — more than 5.5 million people. For comparison, the total number of cryptocurrency owners globally is 283 people.
"Ukraine ranks first in the world in the implementation of cryptocurrencies. Ukraine sent $8.2 billion worth of cryptocurrencies and received $8 billion from July 2019 to June 2020," reports TripleA.
The population of Ukraine is using cryptocurrency and blockchain with great interest. According to the Kuna crypto exchange, the turnover of small businesses in Ukraine reaches about $5 million every week. Analysts also note that the level of retail crypto trading reaches about $800.000 per day.
Ukraine is the glorious homeland of many crypto and their developers. For example, Bitfury, Hacken, and Propy originate in Ukraine. Most of the startups are located outside of Ukraine, however, our country is a robust base for the development of existing ones and the creation of new ones.
Even though most of these developers are now based abroad, the country is still a competitive jurisdiction for crypto startups.
