Brazil’s military dictatorship ended almost 60 years ago. Many Brazilians fought for democracy and election fairness. Residents were able to achieve results after the coup in Brazil. Coup 64 helped people gain constitutional changes and the right to fair elections. However, the incumbent president is once again being reduced to dictatorships. This led to huge protests against president Jair Bolsonaro.
Thousands of people took to the streets of Brazil demanding that the electoral process remain transparent. The changes in the electoral process had led to doubts about the integrity of the government. Jair Bolsonaro opposed the current electoral process. He believes that the electronic voting system may be wrong. So, as acting president, he wants to replace the counting system. The legitimate president also expresses a desire to bring the Brazilian armed forces into the field during the elections.
The people of Brazil are against such changes. They believe that such actions call into question the rule of law, democratic principles, and the integrity of the presidential election.
It should be noted that the protests and suspicions of Bolsonaro’s dictatorial tendencies have been made public for many years. People protested even during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Brazilians demanded both the resignation of the head of state and a change in his political orientation. However, the leader of the country ignores all requests of citizens.
