The Parliament of Sweden Honored the Memory of the Victims of the Holodomor

On March 30, the Ukrainian-Swedish parliamentary network called on the Riksdag to recognise the Holodomor as a genocide

Today, representatives of the Swedish parliament, including the speaker Talman Andreas Norlé, the Ukrainian-Swedish parliamentary network and Ukrainian ambassador to Sweden Andrii Plahotniuk paid tribute to the victims of the Holodomor.

Today, 28 states have recognised the Holodomor as the genocide of the Ukrainian people, and Sweden may become 29. Representatives of the Center party on foreign affairs politicians Kerstin Lundgren and members of the Ukrainian-Swedish organisation expressed their willingness to work on this issue. A petition for recognition by the Swedish parliament was signed by Ukrainska sällskapet i Göteborg and 10 other pro-Ukrainian organisations in Sweden.
