The press service of the ministry of culture and information policy of Ukraine told about the received foreign award for one of the Ukrainian musicians and writers. The modern creative Ukrainian known for volunteerism and patriotism, Serhii Zhadan, was awarded the Polish prize. The Ukrainian writer won the nomination Man of the year-2022 according to the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza.
"World continues to recognize the Ukrainian people. Thus, the writer and musician Serhii Zhadan became the man of the year in Poland. During the war, Zhadan showed his active citizenship. He is a volunteer. Also, he organizes concerts to support people in the bomb shelter and visits the wounded in the hospital. Ukrainians continue their struggle. And it is wonderful that the international community sees it and supports us. Together we will win," wrote in the press service of the ministry of culture and information policy of Ukraine.
Previously, the Ukrainian writer had already received the Freedom prize from the Franck Schirrmaher Foundation. He gave Ukrainian volunteers the entire prize money — almost $10 thousand.
