This autumn morning Ukraine greets our old friend — the president of Switzerland.
"Back in Ukraine — a year after my last visit. My goal is to get a sense of the war, the humanitarian, and the preparations for the reconstruction of the country," said Cassis on Twitter this morning.
The president posted the photo at the railway station in the capital of Ukraine. Representatives of the Kyiv authorities met him. Where exactly the head of Switzerland will go before the meeting with Zelenskyy is still unknown. Probably, Ignazio Cassis will faithfully express his impressions of the destruction left by the Russian invaders. The Swiss Federal Council recently responded to the "referendums" in the occupied territories of Ukraine and declared its adherence to the latter sanctions. The Swiss government has also recently announced a new €5.35 million humanitarian aid package. Today president Ignazio Cassis will see that their finances are essential and help normalize the lives of ordinary Ukrainians.
