"I am pleased to sign the decree on the establishment of our university, the Presidential University of the Future," Zelensky said.
According to him, it should be a higher education institution that will "prepare the people of the future, gather the best teachers in one place and train specialists who will be able to solve important state tasks to protect our state in very important, priority, most relevant areas."
The President said that the university will train specialists in information and cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, aerospace, energy, and biotechnology.
"Our goal is the best conditions, the best teachers, the best students from all over Ukraine, who will study for free and then work in the country, be realized here in Ukraine, for the benefit of our state, for the protection of every Ukrainian," Zelensky said.
The President instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to work out the issues of preparation and implementation of the Presidential University project as a modern educational platform.
The relevant decree №217 / 2021 of May 31 was published on the President's website.
Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to work out in the prescribed manner the preparation and implementation of the project "Presidential University" as a modern educational platform that will ensure the availability of Ukrainian citizens to innovative educational models and learning strategies, effective use of educational infrastructure resources and coworking spaces for educational, scientific and creative projects ", - it is noted in the decree.
According to the document, the government should develop a concept for the implementation of the Presidential University project, taking into account current trends in education, science, and technology, effective educational strategies for the formation of critical thinking skills.
The Cabinet of Ministers is instructed to organize material and financial support for the implementation of the Presidential University, including on the basis of public-private partnership.
As Ukrinform reported, on May 11, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the opening of a new university in Ukraine to train security specialists.
Later, following a meeting at the Office of the President, it became known that by September 2023, Ukraine plans to build a national university, which should become an innovative educational space for training specialists in the latest technologies a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
