President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US leader Joe Biden at the White House. The conversation resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding

According to the press service of the office of the president of Ukraine, Zelenskyy said that his meeting with the president of the United States was constructive and productive, both sides sought to build an effective dialogue.

The talks resulted in a joint Ukrainian-American statement. It states that Ukraine and the United States have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that can support future operations in certain areas, including several key projects under discussion.

"The initial amount of support from the United States Export-Import Bank for these potential transactions of $ 3 billion may be increased as projects in agribusiness, infrastructure, climate, and energy development," the statement said.

Moreover, it was noted that the countries will cooperate in various fields, as the Ukrainian-American Trade and investment council has already agreed to hold its 10th meeting this fall. It will address regulatory barriers, software use, and intellectual property issues.

The country is also committed to enacting legislation that will establish a sound investment verification process. Ukraine and the United States plan to review the Agreement on trade and investment cooperation at the autumn meeting of the council," the document informs.

The presidents also reached a consensus on the intention to achieve ambitious reductions in their national greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, as noted in the respective nationally determined contributions.
Ukraine has joined the Climate Innovation Mission in Agriculture and intends to develop renewable energy in a financially responsible manner,” the joint statement said.
