It is reported that Britain is ready to increase general military assistance to fight Ukraine with Russia. This decision was made after Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited London. Now the British government wants to hand over 28 Challenger 2 tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces instead of the 14 announced.
"What the UK is doing is slowly building consensus. With tanks, it was a breakthrough moment when it was necessary to move the reluctance of all other allies," said Ukrainian ambassador Vadym Prystaiko.
In the event of the transfer of 28 tanks to Ukraine, Britain will have 199 battle tanks for ground forces. The English Challenger 2 can significantly affect the situation on the battlefield. This tank is considered one of the youngest in the European armies. The machine is designed for 4 people who can deliver accurate blows to enemy locations. Challenger 2 is equipped with smooth-bore guns and a charge that shows the maximum effect.
London is also considering training even more Ukrainian troops in 2023. Britain wants to teach in their country 2.5 times more military than was announced earlier.
