Congressmen Steve Cohen and Joe Wilson issued a press release on the resolution to expel Russia from the UN Security Council. The corresponding resolution was submitted for consideration by Congress. A press release posted on Congressman Cohen's official website states that Russia's unprovoked and ongoing war against Ukraine confirms:
"Russia's presence violates the purposes and principles of the UN Charter."
Therefore, congressmen call on the US Congress to recognize that "the RF has repeatedly, deliberately, and flagrantly violated the purposes and principles of the UN." On the basis of the above, Cohen and Wilson are calling on president Biden to lobby for the exclusion of Russia, currently illegally sitting in the seat of a permanent member of the UN Security Council.
Through the resolution, congressmen appeal to president Biden to initiate from the US State departments to all partners and allies to start the process of limiting and terminating the rights and privileges that a terrorist country enjoys today in the UN Security Council.
