The World Bank Has Invested $34 Bln in Ukraine Since 2022

Recovery projects within the framework of the Public Expenditures for Administrative Capacity Endurance

Recently, in Washington were held talks between the minister of finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko, and the heads of the World Bank. The minister thanked the financial institution for the support they provide to Ukraine on February 24, 2022, despite the war: $34 billion total investment, $22 billion of which Ukraine has already received.

"Financial assistance received from the World Bank and established trust funds plays an important role in ensuring priority social spending and maintaining a balanced state budget," Serhiy Marchenko.

The minister also expressed gratitude to the participants of the agreement within the framework of PEACE in Ukraine for $1.76 billion — the USA, Great Britain and Finland. Marchenko noted that these funds help Ukraine to recover today, and not after the war.

The parties discussed new projects in the field of restoration of Ukraine:

  • RELINK — transport infrastructure;
  • Re-Power — energy sector;
  • Heal Ukraine — healthcare;

Funds are provided to Ukraine in accordance with the indicators of the Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis. Now the WB has already prepared the 2nd RDNA.
