In the field of dairy farming, the share of milk produced on an industrial basis is increasing, which improves the quality of raw milk. In 2021, the percentage of agricultural enterprises was 31.5%, which is 2% more than the previous year.
In general, most milk of all types was produced:
- Poltava — 691.8 thsnd tons;
- Vinnytsia — 684.9 thsnd tons;
- Khmelnytsky region — 643.8 thsnd tons.
Leaders in the production of industrial milk were:
- Poltava region — 391.4 thsnd tons;
- Cherkasy region — 296.4 thsnd tons;
- Kharkiv region — 245.8 thsnd tons.
"It should be noted that about 77% of the milk coming for industrial processing is milk from agricultural enterprises, and milk from the population is only 18.5%. According to the preliminary calculation, the population's consumption of milk and dairy products will be 202 kg/year in terms of the main product. Thus, the consumption of milk and dairy products per capita in 2021 increased by 0.05% compared to the previous year," said a director of the department of agrarian development of the ministry of agrarian policy Ihor Vishtak.
