The trade turnover between Ukraine and Georgia has grown by almost 25% since the beginning of the year, the government's plan to maintain the trend. President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about this during a press conference following talks with the president of Georgia in Kyiv.
"I am sure that despite the coronavirus pandemic, we will significantly intensify trade and economic cooperation this year, consolidating the positive trends of the beginning of this year, when our trade increased by almost 25%," — Zelensky said.
After Georgia entered open economic relations, it had trade and economic ties with many countries. Ukraine is one of the leading financial partners of Georgia.
What Georgia exports
A wide range of goods is exported from Georgia — copper ores and concentrates, ferroalloys, natural grape wines, alcoholic beverages, mineral waters, cars, gold, hazelnuts, and other nuts.
In January-August 2021, exports of ferroalloys grew the most — by 82.5%, knitwear — by 63.9%, hazelnuts and other nuts — by 58%.
What Georgia imports
Oil and oil products, cars, petroleum gas, and gaseous hydrocarbons, copper ores and concentrates, medicines, wheat, electricity, telephones for cellular or other communications, and so on are imported to Georgia.
In July of this year, a Ukrainian delegation visited Georgia to invest.com/investing-in-ukraine/service-for-investors/promote-your-business/" rel="dofollow">promote the export of Ukrainian products, particularly livestock products.
"The competent authorities of Ukraine and Georgia have agreed on the form of a certificate for the export of meat, by-products, and other poultry products from Ukraine," the message says.
