Ukrainian energy resource operator Energy company of Ukraine and Turkish power ship manufacturer Karpowership have signed an agreement on the construction of 500 MW floating power plants. This capacity is enough for about a million households. At the same time, negotiations are underway with Moldova and Romania since in order to connect to the energy system of Ukraine, the ships will be moored in the Black Sea of these states.
As on January 26, Russia has carried out 13 large-scale attacks on the energy system of Ukraine. International partners regularly transfer equipment for energy networks to Ukraine, but the same equipment can be destroyed by Russia several times. Rehabilitation of existing energy centres is an important issue, but in this situation, it is even more important to look for alternative sources of energy supply,
"Karpowership is delighted to work with ECU to mitigate the energy crisis in Ukraine. Power plants are a fast, reliable and flexible solution to the problem of electricity shortage in the country, and we are ready to support Ukraine in obtaining the necessary energy in the shortest possible time," Zeinepa Kharezi, commercial director of Karpowership.
The project will be implemented with the participation of 4 states. Today, similar stations are already operating in Africa, New Caledonia and Brazil.
