Ukrainian drone production moves deeper into Europe
Twist Robotics has agreed with Danish company Vidar Industries to launch joint production of SAKER combat drones in Denmark. For Ukraine’s defense-tech sector, the agreement is more than an export episode: it shows how Ukrainian battlefield-proven engineering can be scaled through partner-country factories.
The Danish site is expected to support manufacturing, assembly and adaptation of unmanned systems for partner needs. The logic is clear: Ukrainian developers bring operational experience, fast iteration and platform knowledge, while European industrial partners add facilities, certification discipline, supply-chain depth and access to procurement networks.
Why Denmark matters
Denmark has become one of Ukraine’s most active defense partners and has promoted the model in which allies finance Ukrainian weapons and cooperate directly with producers. Production outside Ukraine can reduce pressure on domestic facilities, shorten logistics for European customers and make it easier to service systems close to partner armies.
For Twist Robotics, cooperation with Vidar Industries can strengthen serial manufacturing of SAKER drones and create a clearer route for sales, maintenance and further upgrades. For Denmark, it is a way to support Ukraine while also developing local competence in unmanned systems, sensors and defense manufacturing.
Investor signal
The deal confirms a wider trend: Ukrainian defense technology is entering the European industrial market not only as finished equipment, but also as joint production, licensing, localization and service ecosystems. That makes the sector more investable, because revenue can come from production capacity, components, integration, training and long-term support.
