U.S. Begins Immediate Shipment of Military Aid to Ukraine, Pentagon Confirms

The United States has initiated the shipment of a newly approved military aid package to Ukraine, with delivery of ammunition and weapons expected to occur within a few days, according to Pentagon spokesperson General Patrick Ryder

General Ryder refrained from providing specific details regarding the exact timing of when the supplies would reach Ukrainian soil. He emphasized the commencement of logistics operations, indicating that some of the armaments and equipment, notably ammunition, are prioritized for rapid delivery due to their urgent necessity.

"Some items will naturally take longer to arrive than others, but we're moving quickly to transport critical supplies like ammunition," stated Ryder during a press briefing.

This proactive measure follows the recent authorization by President Joe Biden, who signed a legislative act enabling this support. The $1 billion aid package is designed to address the immediate security and defense needs of Ukraine. Included in this package are air defense interceptors, artillery ammunition, armored vehicles, and anti-tank weapons, aimed at reinforcing Ukraine's defensive capabilities amid ongoing hostilities.
