Representatives of Ukraine visited a farewell ceremony in Britain in honour of the Queen and with the Duchess of Cambridge

On September 18, Ukrainian first lady Olena Zelenska arrived in London to bid farewell to the late 92-year-old Queen of Great Britain Elizabeth II. The president of Ukraine was absent from the ceremony due to the war in Ukraine, so prime minister Denys Shmyhal, ambassador of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko, and his wife became an escort for Zelenska. The first lady visited Westminster Hall, where the coffin of the deceased ruler stands. Royal Central reported that after Zelenska honoured the departed Queen, she accepted an invitation to meet Kate Middleton. The Ukrainian representative met the new princess at Buckingham Palace.

At that time, the prime minister of Ukraine held 2 business meetings: with the new minister of foreign affairs and the speaker of the House of Commons. With the speaker of one of the chambers, Shmyhal discussed the Russian Federation's war crimes in Ukraine and their punishment. Britain and Ukraine understand each other’s pain and share it in all spheres.

On September 19, Ukrainian representatives will join members of the royal family, heads of other states, and dignitaries worldwide at her Majesty’s official funeral.
