According to British intelligence, Russia is changing tactics and is planning another massive invasion of Donetsk and Luhansk. However, the change of leadership, known for its atrocities in Syria, will not help the failed war for Russia.
- Fighting in eastern Ukraine will intensify over the next 2 to 3 weeks as Russia continues to refocus its efforts there;
- Russian attack remain focused on Ukrainian positions near Donetsk and Luhansk with further fighting around Kherson and Mykolaiv and renewed push towards Kramatorsk;
- Russian forces continue to withdraw from Belarus to redeploy in support of operations in eastern Ukraine.

On the night of April 12, the Russian invaders used chemical weapons against the Azov regiment in Mariupol. The first casualties are reported. The head of the British Ministry of foreign affairs commented on Russia's mistake on Twitter.
"Reports that Russian forces may have used chemical agent in an attack on the people of Mariupol. We are working urgently with partners to verify details. Any use of such weapons would be a callous escalation in this conflict, and we will hold Putin and his regime to account," Liz Truss.
