Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk announced that a new draft law – co-sponsored by 35 MPs – has been registered to introduce simplified parliamentary procedures for laws required under EU accession commitments.
“This will be a difficult conversation in the hall, but we are ready for it – because this is about taking responsibility for Ukraine’s European future,” Stefanchuk emphasized.
Key details:
-
150+ MPs are now working inside parliamentary EU-integration clusters and negotiation groups.
-
The new mechanism will accelerate the review and adoption of European integration bills, particularly those forming part of the negotiation chapters with the EU.
-
The initiative is linked to Ukraine’s broader policy to synchronize internal legislation with the Acquis Communautaire and move from candidate to negotiating country status.
-
Parliament also confirmed its commitment to the NATO integration track, calling the Alliance “Ukraine’s best long-term security guarantee.”
For international partners and investors:
This fast-track legal regime is designed to reduce unpredictable approval timelines and synchronize Ukrainian regulation with EU market rules, particularly in sectors such as energy, competition, customs, infrastructure, digital and public procurement – opening clearer frameworks for EU-oriented investment decisions in Ukraine in 2025-2026.
