Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this achievement during a government meeting.
Shmyhal emphasized the government's ongoing commitment to supporting and developing the economy, stating, “This year, one of the main tasks for the government remains to support and develop the economy. Thanks to a functioning economy, we can finance our army, increase weapons production, help those who need it most, and restore our country.”
Key Highlights:
- Trade Performance:
- Exports: Almost 130 million tons of goods worth over $41 billion.
- Cargo Handling: Over 97 million tons managed through the sea corridor and ports.
- Financial Achievements:
- State Budget Receipts: Approximately 2.177 trillion hryvnias received by the general fund.
- Corporate Income Tax: 271 billion hryvnias collected.
- Overall Budget Inflows: Nearly 2.2 trillion UAH, with every ninth hryvnia stemming from personal income tax and military levy.
Shmyhal attributed this success to the resilience and dedication of Ukrainian businesses, whose entrepreneurs have maintained employment, paid taxes, supported the army, and invested in the nation's recovery.
Additionally, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of shifting Ukraine's export focus from raw materials to processed products to further enhance economic stability and growth.
The restoration of trade indicators was largely facilitated by the Ukrainian sea corridor and the efficient operations of the country's ports, which played a crucial role in handling the substantial volume of cargo in 2024.
As Ukraine continues its path towards economic recovery, the emphasis remains on fostering a robust and diversified export economy, ensuring sustained growth and stability for the nation.
