2 June 2021 Ukrainian state concerns "Ukroboronprom" and "Artem" as well as Canadian companies GL Munitions Inc. and Waterbury-Farrel signed an agreement on joint production of small arms cartridges

According to CEO of the concern Yuri Gusev on his Facebook page, the Ukrainian-Canadian team will develop a feasibility study for the construction of the plant. The new Canadian-Ukrainian production will completely close one of the necessary niches in the defense sphere of Ukraine.

The idea to build the plant began in 2016. Prior to the signing of the agreement between the four companies involved in the production, "Ukroboronprom" signed a memorandum with the Government of Canada on cooperation in the defense and industrial sphere.
