Ukraine and Latvia to Boost Joint Drone Production and Energy Support

Ukraine and Latvia have agreed to enhance their cooperation in the production of drones and provide substantial support to Ukraine’s energy infrastructure

This announcement came from Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine's Foreign Minister, during a briefing with his Latvian counterpart, Baiba Braze.

Latvia will also donate a significant 250 MW generator to assist with the needs of Ukraine's energy system. "We appreciate Latvia's decision to join the Czech Republic's initiative to purchase artillery shells, and we discussed expanding our shell production. The commitment to increase drone production is crucial as the demand for these assets grows. Ukrainian and Latvian companies are poised to make significant contributions to this effort," Kuleba stated.

Baiba Braze highlighted Latvia's broader support, noting, "Today, I was informed that our national energy company, Latvenergo, will supply a new large generator for the Ukrainian energy system, showcasing support from the entire country." She also mentioned her visit to a Ukrainian thermal power plant to directly assess their critical needs.

The discussions also touched on Ukraine's ongoing integration into the European Union, emphasizing the strengthening bilateral cooperation in various sectors.
