Ukraine Changes the Composition of Its Juices in Accordance With EU Requirements

The EU countries are major exporters of Ukrainian juice products, so Ukrainian businessmen are adapting to the new EU Directive on product characteristics

On July 24, the Ministry of agricultural policy and food of Ukraine published a plan to standardise the production of Ukrainian juices and fruit and berry products in accordance with the requirements of the European Union. Firstly, the EU countries are the largest importers of Ukrainian juices, secondly, that the standardisation of the juice recipe is one of the points of Ukraine's measures for European integration.

Currently, the European Commission is developing a directive on reducing the sugar content in juices, and Ukraine will join its ratification and change the characteristics of its products. In addition, Ukrainian enterprises producing juices and other products from fruits and berries adapt their products per the requirements of the product marking/labelling directive.
