Ukraine Completes Largest Infrastructure Project Since Independence

Ukraine successfully completes the construction of the “Ingulets – Southern Reservoir” main water pipeline, the largest infrastructure project in the country’s history

Ukraine has completed the construction of the main water pipeline "Ingulets - Southern Reservoir," which is now fully operational and supplying water to Kryvyi Rih and the surrounding Kryvyi Rih District. The project is hailed as the largest infrastructure initiative undertaken in the country since gaining independence.

According to the State Recovery Agency, the pipeline was built in record time—just 11 months—following the destruction of the Kakhovskaya HPP dam by Russian forces, which left over 1.5 million people without a reliable water supply. The new pipeline, with a capacity to pump 400,000 cubic meters of water per day, ensures uninterrupted water supply to 15 affected territorial communities in the Kryvorizhye region.

The construction of the water pipeline, which began immediately after the dam's destruction, involved more than 1,000 workers and 500 pieces of equipment operating in three shifts around the clock. The project represents a significant achievement in Ukraine's ongoing efforts to restore critical infrastructure amid ongoing challenges.
