Ukraine Evacuated 138 Civilians From Sudan

Among the rescued were 87 Ukrainians, as well as citizens of Georgia and Peru

The main directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine announced the successful completion of the operation to rescue civilians from the capital of Sudan, Khartoum, where fighting is currently ongoing.

"During the conditions of continuous fighting, non-compliance with the "quiet" regime, lack of food, water and equipment from the zone of armed conflict," 87 Ukrainians were rescued, plus citizens of Peru and Georgia with their families. Among the rescued were 35 women and 12 small children. All 138 people are now in Egypt: each of them received shelter, food and medical care. Ukrainians will be sent home as soon as possible.

The operation was carried out by the joint efforts of the Ministry of foreign affairs and the Intelligence directorate with the support of the office of the president of Ukraine.
