Ukraine Focused on Reducing emissions by 65% by 2030

Within the framework of the Association Agreement with the EU, Ukraine is implementing the EU Waste Management Directives into national legislation

The website of the Ukrainian government says that the national economic strategy for the period up to 2030 is more ambitious than in the EU, since in the countries of the European Union the need to reduce emissions reaches 55%.

During the meeting between the representative of Ukraine and the European Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries, it was concluded that “Ukraine shares the EU goals in climate policy and activities within the framework of the European Green Deal”.

The EU Commissioner also added that Ukraine should perceive the Green Deal not only as a benchmark for climate improvement but also as an investment opportunity.

"The purpose of today's meeting is to present investment opportunities that can be implemented in the context of the European Green Deal. Updating Ukraine's National with established contributions is a clear signal for business to pay attention to the issues of standardization, building cleaner production, energy conservation and decarbonization," said the European Commissioner.
