Ukraine in the Trans-Pacific Partnership

On July 16, Ukraine's readiness for membership in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership will be considered

On July 7, Japan and New Zealand received Ukraine's application for membership in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership. This partnership includes Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam. The United Kingdom has recently become another member, and for the most part, they are engaged in the exchange of electrical equipment, cars and fossil fuels.

Shigeyuki Goto, minister of the economy of Japan, announced his intention to "thoroughly assess whether Ukraine fully complies with the high level of the agreement" under the CPTPP. All countries participating in the partnership will discuss Ukraine's candidacy in Auckland (New Zealand) on July 16.

It is known that China, Taiwan, Ecuador, Costa Rica and Uruguay have also applied to participate in the CPTPP.
