Belarus is a state that assists Putin in the war against Ukraine. Regular shelling and military attacks are carried out from the territory of this country. On May 20, the mayor of the city of Zhytomyr, Serhii Sukhomlin, spoke about the preventive strengthening of the border with Belarus.
"We went around the positions of our territorial defense battalions, which are located on the border with Belarus. They have already dug in quite well on the border and we understand that the enemy will not make a second attempt. There will be no way to enter Ukraine the way they entered on February 24. From 1 May we started building concrete blocks along the entire line," Serhii Sukhomlin.
According to the mayor of the city, municipal administrations of Ukraine take part in strengthening the border. Also, according to the mayor, each city in the region will be responsible for the restoration of certain territories.
"We will build a normal line of defense so that the defenders are protected by concrete and everything else. The Belarusian army and the Russian army do not try to enter from Belarus," Serhii Sukhomlin.
