Ukraine and Kenya are preparing to deepen bilateral cooperation after a meeting between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Kenyan President William Ruto. The discussion covered political coordination, investment, agriculture, education and food security.
Zelenskyy thanked Kenya for supporting Ukrainian resolutions at the United Nations General Assembly. The leaders also discussed Russia’s recent mass attack against Ukraine and the broader need for international support.
Practical cooperation track
The economic part of the meeting focused on projects that can move beyond diplomatic statements. Ukraine said it is ready to share experience and work with Kenya on joint initiatives in sectors where both countries have practical interests.
Food security remains one of those areas. Despite the war, Ukraine continues to position itself as a reliable supplier of agricultural products. Cooperation with Kenya can connect that capacity with African market needs, logistics planning and long-term agricultural partnerships.
The two sides agreed that their teams would work through the details of possible projects. Zelenskyy also invited Ruto to visit Ukraine, which would give the partnership a more direct political and economic format.
