Ukraine Launched New Gas Route to Europe

Oleksiivka gas transportation route opens to Moldova to use the services of storing its resources in the gas transportation system of Ukraine

On July 1, the Ukrainian gas transmission system operator opened another gas route between Europe and Ukraine. Oleksiivka checkpoint enhances Moldova to store its gas in Ukrainian underground gas storages and then transport it to Europe.

The National energy and utilities regulatory commission of Ukraine has set the price for the new gas pipeline at $4.45 + VAT per 1.000 m³ of gas per day.

According to the head of the Gas-transport system of Ukraine, the structure Oleksiivka will open the supply of intermittent capacities to market participants, which will be available through daily nomination/renomination.

"This decision expands Moldova's ability to store gas in Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities and also increases Moldova's access to the EU market to enhance the flexibility and energy security of the region," Dmytro Lippa.
