Ukraine Launches Workshop Series to Engage Foreign Businesses in Reconstruction Projects

The Ministry of Economy expands international outreach through investment workshops, with upcoming sessions for Dutch companies focused on energy, agriculture, and sustainable construction

Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture has launched a series of international workshops aimed at attracting foreign investors and businesses to participate in the country’s reconstruction and modernization efforts.
The initiative is part of a broader government strategy to promote Ukraine’s economic potential abroad and build long-term partnerships in key industries such as energy, water management, agriculture, healthcare, and circular construction.

Upcoming Events: Focus on the Netherlands

The next two workshops will target Dutch companies, with sessions scheduled for November 4 (online) and December 16 (in-person in the Netherlands).

The events, titled “Ukraine–Netherlands Partnership for Recovery: New Opportunities for Business and Investment in Ukraine,” are jointly organized by:

  • The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine

  • The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO)

  • The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine
with support from the Kyiv School of Economics and the Tony Blair Institute.

Participants will receive an overview of Ukraine’s current investment climate, government incentives, and risk mitigation mechanisms designed to support international investors entering the Ukrainian market.

Key Topics and Goals

The workshops will focus on three main areas:

  1. Investment Landscape – Economic priorities, market potential, and emerging opportunities in reconstruction-related industries.

  2. Incentives and Financing Tools – Overview of state support programs, EU and multilateral funding, and risk insurance instruments available to foreign investors.

  3. Business Networking – Direct engagement between Ukrainian and Dutch companies, financial institutions, and government representatives to initiate new partnerships.

By fostering these exchanges, the Ministry aims to bridge Ukrainian project developers with foreign investors, strengthening private-sector participation in the recovery process.

Expanding International Outreach

The Ministry has already conducted similar investment workshops for businesses in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Italy, and Germany.
Most recently, on October 21, a session was held in Japan as part of the UMAC conference, attended by Minister of Economy Oleksiy Sobolev.

Future events are planned in:

  • Sweden

  • The Netherlands (in continuation of the December workshop)

  • Germany, during the 8th German–Ukrainian Economic Forum

  • Italy, where an online sectoral energy workshop will be dedicated to collaboration with Italian energy firms.

Strategic Context

The series of workshops forms part of Ukraine’s post-war economic diplomacy agenda, which aims to:

  • Rebuild investor confidence through transparent dialogue and accessible information.

  • Connect foreign expertise and capital with Ukrainian industrial and regional projects.

  • Accelerate sustainable recovery by prioritizing green, resilient, and innovative sectors.

For Ukraine, such events represent both a diplomatic instrument and an investment accelerator, signaling that the country remains open for business and focused on modernization even amid ongoing security challenges.

Outlook

Through these workshops, Ukraine is strengthening its position as a future investment hub of Eastern Europe, aligning national reconstruction efforts with global partners’ expertise and financing.

The consistent involvement of EU governments, international agencies, and think tanks demonstrates growing international trust in Ukraine’s reform trajectory and economic management.
As reconstruction accelerates, these partnerships are expected to transform early-stage networking into joint ventures, infrastructure projects, and long-term industrial cooperation.
