Ukraine May Receive 40.000 Projectiles for “Gepard”

"Rheinmetall" will produce 300.000 munitions per year, part of which will be sent to the defence of Ukraine

Media Bild reports that on a particular line in Unterluss, Germany, Rheinmetall produces additional ammunition for the Gepard self-propelled guns that are currently defending Ukraine. Currently, Germany (and other countries) have a shortage of these shells because this installation was developed in the 1980s, and ammunition for it has not been produced for a long time. Therefore, states transferred these projectiles from the balance sheets, and German engineers converted 35-mm shells for the Gepard.

It is reported that this Rheinmetall line can produce up to 300.000 ammunition per year, and Ukraine can receive 40.000 of them already this year. Notably, the first batch of ammo with which the Armed Forces of Ukraine collect enemy drones and missiles will arrive at the front this month. One turn of Gepard is designed for 20 shots. While there is a shortage of the necessary ammunition in Ukraine, the Ukrainians shoot up to 5 out of 20.
