Both sides decided to continue working together on projects to develop communication technologies. The document was signed and entered into force on January 17, 2022.
According to Liudvih Dekamps, NATO Communications and Information Agency director, they are pleased to have been dealing with Ukraine for several years, providing it with crucial opportunities and passing on their knowledge and experience. Following the renewal of the NATO-Ukraine agreement, it is planned to strengthen cooperation to support the development of IT technologies and communications services and identify areas where staff training may be required. Liudvih added that their experts are ready to continue this important partnership.
The Ukrainian ambassador said that the signed memorandum continues the cooperation that began in 2015. The projects will involve efforts to supply secure communication equipment to Ukraine, which started operations in 2018 and is currently in use.
NATO and Ukraine will work together on Knowledge Sharing Initiative, in which NATO experts share their experience with their Ukrainian counterparts in organizing a governance and communications system.
