Ukraine’s integration into the European common transit system is showing stronger practical results. In the first quarter of 2026, businesses filed 46.3 thousand transit declarations under the NCTS procedure, according to the State Customs Service.
More than 30.1 thousand movements that began in Ukraine were successfully completed in countries participating in the Convention on a Common Transit Procedure. Ukrainian customs offices also completed 16.2 thousand movements that started abroad.
Why the record matters
March became the strongest month since Ukraine joined the Convention on October 1, 2022. Customs registered 12.1 thousand departure declarations and 6.4 thousand completions in Ukraine. This shows that the system is moving from formal integration to everyday business use.
NCTS also remains important for domestic transit. Almost nine thousand T1 declarations were issued for movements within Ukraine, which helps companies move goods with clearer customs control and fewer duplicated procedures.
Guarantee instruments are also expanding. In the first quarter, fifteen general guarantees were registered, along with 5,821 individual guarantees. For exporters, importers and logistics operators, this is a sign that trust in the common transit framework is rising, while Ukrainian procedures continue to move closer to European standards.
