Controlled exports: priority remains the Armed Forces
President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine is preparing agreements for arms exports, with four main platforms already identified:
-
United States,
-
Europe,
-
Middle East,
-
Africa.
The president stressed that exports will involve only surplus types of weapons, ensuring that the priority remains the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“The first priority is the front, the second is our arsenals and only the third priority is controlled exports,” Zelensky said.
Financing drones and missile production
Revenue from arms exports will be used to cover critical defense needs, particularly:
-
the production and purchase of drones,
-
modern interception systems,
-
long-range weapons.
“Having money from this export and spending it on scarce drones and interceptors and long-range weapons — what is there not enough money for,” Zelensky emphasized.
International interest and first offers
Ukraine has already established defense trade representation in the USA, Europe, and the Middle East. At the UN General Assembly, Zelensky confirmed receiving offers from several African countries.
“We have already chosen a country, and we will see — there is a large demand there,” the president said.
The government is expected to soon publish details about specific countries and conditions for defense exports.
Strategic importance
-
Domestic security first: surplus exports will not weaken the defense capabilities of the Ukrainian army.
-
International markets open: the USA, EU states, Middle Eastern partners, and African countries are ready to cooperate.
-
Economic benefit: proceeds from exports will directly fund cutting-edge military technologies needed at the front.
