On July 18, the military leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the receipt of cluster munitions from the United States. This type of explosive weapon is banned in several countries but not in the USA and Ukraine. These weapons will change the course of the war, but unexploded ordnance poses a threat to civilians in the post-war era.
National Security Council spokesman John Kirby confirmed that shipments of cluster munitions have been sent to Ukraine and that the Armed Forces are using them "adequately and effectively."
We remind you that considerations on providing Ukraine with cluster weapons began in early July. Many countries opposed the use of inhumane ammunition. However, Ukraine has the right to self-defence against the most inhuman enemy since the 2nd World War.
