Ukraine-Southeast Europe Summit to be Held in Croatia

Croatia will host the upcoming Ukraine-Southeast Europe summit in October, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi expected to attend

This announcement was made by Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković during a press conference in Kyiv.

Plenković highlighted Croatia's steadfast support for Ukraine since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion, stating that the summit will be part of broader political and diplomatic efforts. "Next month, Croatia will host a summit of the countries of Southeastern Europe and Ukraine together with President Zelensky," he said.

The previous summit was held in Athens on February 28, 2024, and was attended by President Zelenskyi, alongside leaders from Serbia, Moldova, Montenegro, Greece, Romania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Croatia.

During his visit to Kyiv, Plenković also participated in discussions with President Zelenskyi. The Ukrainian leader expressed gratitude for Croatia's support, particularly the 11th package of military aid announced during the visit. They discussed humanitarian demining, post-war reconstruction, and energy infrastructure restoration. Zelenskyi also thanked Croatia for its targeted energy assistance and ongoing support in the rehabilitation of Ukrainian defenders and their families.
