Ukraine to Establish Nuclear Fuel Manufacturing Facility with Westinghouse Technology

The National Nuclear Energy Generating Company “Energoatom” is gearing up to construct a new facility dedicated to producing heat-separating assemblies, located near Yuzhnoukrainsk city

This initiative was shared by the company's press service, quoting the Acting Chairman of the Board, Petr Kotin.

Kotin expressed his surprise and gratitude for the overwhelming support from the residents of Yuzhnoukrainsk for hosting the new plant. The facility's production processes will utilize the advanced technology of the American firm Westinghouse, marking a significant step in Ukraine's nuclear energy sector.

Heat-separating assemblies, the plant's main product, are essential components used as fuel in nuclear power stations. This development comes as "Energoatom" reports a notable increase in its electricity production, underlining the company's ongoing efforts to enhance Ukraine's energy independence and capacity.
