Ukraine to Export Electricity Again

The minister of energy of Ukraine signed a document for the resumption of electricity selling

On April 7, the press centre of the Ministry of energy reported that the head of the department Herman Halushchenko signed the administrative document. According to the document, Ukraine has not experienced a lack of electricity for several months, all stations have been repaired and have created a surplus. This allows the country to sell electricity abroad again. Recall that since October Ukraine has been a victim of Russian attacks on power plants throughout the country. Therefore, from October 11, 2022, Kyiv stopped exporting electricity due to massive Russian missile attacks on heat generation and electrical substations.

Now the Ministry will again provide electricity to partners, but the statement says that providing stable heat and electricity to the Ukrainian people remains a priority. Opening export and searching for new clients will attract additional financial resources to the country. All proceeds are planned to be used to eliminate the remaining consequences of 15 massive missile attacks on the energy infrastructure.

The head of the Ministry of energy Halushchenko said that the European network of operators of the ENTSO-E transmission system allows transmission per day of up to 400 MW. But the overall Ukrainian exports so far may fluctuate, depending on the country’s needs.
