The German Ministry of defence has published a statement on the transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine of 16 Biber tank bridge layers designed to construct water crossings in military operations.
"We continue to support! To further support Ukraine's land forces, minister Lambrecht has decided to deliver a package of 16 Biber armoured bridge-laying vehicles. This can be used to overcome water or obstacles in battle," German Ministry of defence.
A tank bridge layer or bridge tank is a particular armoured engineering vehicle based on a tank chassis, designed for transportation, installation and removal using built-in bridge structure mechanisms in a combat situation to ensure the advancement of tanks and other combat vehicles.

- Designed for a crew of 2 (commander and driver);
- maximum speed up to 62 km/h.
The systems will be more than relevant to Ukraine since, on July 27, Ukraine damaged the Antonovsky bridge, thus cutting off Russian troops from support.
