Background
Ukraine harvested its first cotton crop last year, marking an important step toward building a strategic resource base for defense needs. Following the initial success, authorities set a target to expand cotton cultivation to 30,000 hectares in the next planting season.
By encouraging domestic cotton production, Ukraine aims to reduce dependence on imports and secure critical materials for national security.
